If jazz or bluegrass isn't your thing, there's always Lady Gaga

LADY AND THE VAMP: No matter if you love her, hate her or just plain don't understand her, Lada Gaga is taking her massive image into American Airlines Center tonight under the tag of the Monster Ball. You may be asking yourself, "What is a Monster Ball?" Well let's let the Gaga speak for herself. “It’s called Monster Ball, but it’s more of a musical and less of a concert,” Lady Gaga said in a February interview with American Idol's Ryan Seacrest. “It has a New York theme, it’s a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we’re going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost.” Now that you have a firm grasp on the reality of the situation you better get ready to watch watch happens when Marilyn Manson goes undercover as a  pop sensation. The Ball starts a 8 p.m.

BACK IT UP: For a total change of pace from the scene that will be ensuing at American Airlines, slide on down to the Library Bar to see former Raeletter (back-up singer for Ray Charles) Pat Peterson perform behind the piano. Pat has performed around the workd with superstars such as John Mellencamp, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Bee Gees and Elton John. When you see her at the Library Bar and hear her renditions of everything from "Unforgettable" and "It Had To Be You" to "Killing me Softly", her individual start power and larger-than-life personality clearly shine. Show starts at 5 p.m.

DEETLES AND FRIES: There is just something rad about seeing live music in a proper eating environment like Fred's Texas Cafe. You get the feeling that you are seeing something for the first time, even if you're not. In this case the not would be The Deetles. The Deedles are a four piece Rock/Electric Bluegrass outfit hailing from Kansas often referred to as "The Every Band." Nationally touring, they are well on there way to doing over 150 shows this year. Catch 'em starting at 8 p.m., but come earlier for the food.
