7/1: Show Up and Sit Down

TREKKIES DO IT OUTSIDE: One of the greatest things about Ft. Worth is it's support of outdoor family arts events. Tonight Sundance Square, downtown Fort Worth’s premier entertainment and retail district, resumes its free outdoor Summer movie series with Star Trek. Could you possibly imagine a better way to watch a movie about "Space -- The Final Frontier" while sitting directly under it? Gates open at 7 p.m., movies begin at dusk. No coolers or outside food allowed, bring blankets and chairs. Beverages & snacks available for purchase. Free parking after 5pm. No pets, please.

JAZZ IT UP: Join the good folks at the Dallas Museum of Art tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. for their award-winning Jazz in the Atrium. Enjoy dinner and drinks while listening to live jazz concerts by some of the area's greatest musicians. Tonight features electric bassist Rick Rigsby. Over the past twenty years, Rigsby has performed or shared the stage with such greats as Johnnie Taylor, Kirk Whalum, and Billy Preston. David Ritz, author and contributing editor for Rolling Stone magazine, states, “Rick Rigsby is one of the most dynamic and prolific bassists today." But, please, just hold back on shouting "Slappin' da bass, mon."

DREAMBOYS: So you probably know the King Bucks, the greatest country band this side of the Trinity, but what you probably didn't know is that KB keys man Chad Stockslager has a variety show with John Pedigo called the JC Experience at La Grange. Performing sketches and skits and implementing pre-recorded video bits, J and C are sure to make audiences howl with laughter.! This unique blend of music, comedy, and old-school humor harkens back to the glory days of classic Vaudeville-like showmanship. Thus far, the shows have been hoots and this latest installment should be the best yet. With appearances by Dallas dreamboats Chris Holt, Adam Cole, Gordon Keith, and Danny Balis, this is not to be missed! Doors at 8:30 p.m.
