5/3: Talk Soup

Join in the conversation with these events discussing politics, Chopin, and the Lone Star State.

RED ROVER, RED ROVER: Political architect and former President Bush adviser Karl Rove has certainly spent more time in the spotlight since Dubya's departure. As a Fox News analyst, Rove's been getting a lot of screen time, but if you need more face time with the man behind the curtain, you can pick up tickets to his speaking engagement tonight at the Eisemann Center. As little as $15 will get you in the door, but if you want to shake his hand, the VIP reception will cost your $75.

PIANO WITH FOOTNOTES: Simultaneously with Rove's speech, the Eisemann Center will host Jeffrey Siegel's Keyboard Conversations which features the artist playing complete piano pieces after telling the story behind each one. The theme for tonight's outing is Chopin, so you're sure to hear some excellent tickling of the ivories, plus an interesting fact or two you can break out at your next classically scored dinner party.

AUTHOR, ACTOR, ART: In another installment of their Arts and Letters Live series, the Dallas Museum of Art is hosting readings from authors like David Eagleman, Steven Gullion, and K.L. Cook by local actors. Many of the main players in theater are here, with representatives from Shakespeare Dallas, Kitchen Dog Theater, and Dallas Theater Center reading the works.
