MR. BURNS? WE THINK NOT!: God bless Howard Hughes, the original weirdo with enough money to put his mad plans into action. Some of them worked - ex: airplanes. Some of them did not - ex: his plan to make the world’s most expensive movie. While the film may have inspired the likes of folk heroes such as James Cameron, it was an epic public fail at the time of its release. Ya know what else what an epic public fail at the time of its release? The paintings of Van Gough, the music of the Velvet Underground and that book A Confederacy of Dunces. That’s why the newly reopened Texas Theater in Oak Cliff is presenting you with Howard Hughes night. Not only do you get to sit the infamous theater where Oswald was apprehended, you get to do it while watching Hell’s Angels & the Scorsese biopic the Aviator, all about, by and for the man who opened it. That's right Dallas, Howard Hughes opened the Texas Theater! Boom! Your mind is blown. Your brain is wrinkled. So get out there Dallas, and give greatness its second chance!

WALKING THE PAINTED LINE: Have you ever sat and painted alongside Bob Ross? No? Well first off you have been missing out your whole life. How did you ever get by without those happy little clouds or a nice green sky? Well if you missed out on what you should have been doing during summers with your grandma, then tonight’s your chance to make up for lost time with Painting With A Twist. What’s the twist you ask? Well the answer is simple. Booze. Bring your favorite bottle of wine or beverage, and paint a picture along with a local artist. They will show you step-by-step how to paint a beautiful masterpiece that you can take home. They provide the paint, brushes, canvas and fun…but not the booze; and Lord knows no decent art has ever come from a lack of booze.
