4/9: Get Fresh

BLUE FRIDAY: Bluesman Jonny Lang performs at the Main Street Ft. Worth Arts Festival tonight at 9PM, and he's sure to draw a mammoth crowd to the already huge weekend-long arts showcase. See Oso Closo at 2:30PM if you're out this afternoon and check out the full lineup here.

HAIRSPRAY: If you like emotional indie pop-rock and/or precision haircuts, tonight's bill at Trees is your bag. Headliners Air Review took three years to write a album's worth of songs in Irving before playing their first show, so they're ready for you. The Burning Hotels, Radiant, and They Were Stars bring the pretty power pop to warm up. $10. 7PM.

BREAKOUT: Sherilyn Segrest has played with Telegraph Canyon and performed in Deadman on keyboard and vocals, but somehow we didn't catch her with either band. We heard from more than one top-rate reliable source, though, that her new folk-rock solo project is impressive live. And RTB2 serves as her backing band most often, if the names already dropped don't do anything for you. See her downstairs at The Cavern tonight at 10:30PM supporting Becky Middleton and The Roomsounds.
