4/8: Golden Triangle

CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY: Yeasayer's breed of cloudy dance music is like chillwave for carnivores, conjuring both epic cruise ship slow dance scenes and MGMT-style drum circles at turns. See the Brooklyn firestarters at Granada Theater tonight with Javelin opening. Find tickets here. 8PM.

STREET FARE: The free and funky Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival begins today in the colorful stretch of downtown between the Tarrant County Courthouse and the Fort Worth Convention Center. The multi-medium juried art fair shares billing with lots and lots of food and Fort Worth's best attended music festival. Check out today's entertainment line-up here - note the Paul Unger Quartet's lunchbreak appearance. 10AM-10PM.

TOWN OVERHAUL: So the adult beverages suggested by resident philosopher and perpetual host Kevin Roden's Drink and Think discussion series in Denton expanded to include coffee when ThinkDenton.com launched last month and townsfolk were invited to engage in extended conversations about local politics, culture, and the arts during their morning Internetting. After sitting down with candidates for May's Denton City Council race in the third floor library of his family's home for the Interviews in the Attic series, Roden takes the caffeine alternative live to Jupiter House for the City Council Candidate Forum co-sponsored by the Denton Record-Chronicle. (If you think this will prove a quiet night, catch up with Eli Gemini and Bob Clifton.) For more traditional Drink and Thinkers, there'll be booze at the afterparty, and you can guess where that'll be. Forum starts at 7PM. Free.
