GRAND ENTRANCE: If you as much as loaded our Web site in the last day or so, you might've heard Erykah Badu received a citation for her Dealey Plaza disrobe in the "Window Seat" video. Saturday, her John Hancock graces something much more pleasant: 333 copies of New Amerykah, Pt. 2: Return of the Ankh, beginning at exactly 3:33PM at Good Records (thanks, DC9.)
EXTENDED PLAY: Fort Worth's hard thrashing Drug Mountain warms up with songs from the band's first album (recorded by Steve Albini, we remind) as Grapevine's Mount Righteous tops the cacophony of the day at Good Records off with a release of their similarly chaotic self-titled record, which, from the songs we've heard, revs up the anti-establishment, orchestral polka-core with a blast of angst. Saturday, 8-10PM.
IN LIEU OF NAP: Our pick for the final day of the Deep Ellum Arts Festival has everything to do with it being Easter. Denton's Backside Pick plays at 3:20PM, perfect timing for families to let their grand lunches settle and let the funk (and hopefully, sunshine) wash 'em over. See the rest of the Sunday schedule here.
