With plenty of events to choose from, your pick for What You're Doing This Weekend could be harder than the SAT.

REELIN' IT IN

Saturday: It was hard enough seeing all five Best Picture nominees before the Academy Awards, but now there's ten! Luckily, as they've done for years past, AMC theatres in the DFW area will be showing Best Picture nominated films in a five-film festival for only $30. But which five films will you see? At Northpark and Stonebriar, it's UP, A Serious Man, The Hurt Locker, An Education, and District 9. At Grapevine Mills and Parks at Arlington, you'll get An Education, The Hurt Locker, Up in the Air, The Blind Side, and Inglorious Basterds. Buy tickets and get more details here.

Sunday: But say you don't want to watch the Academy Awards with your cat. How aboutt a Whale? GordonandtheWhale.com is hosting a free screening of the Oscars at Mockingbird Station's Angelika Film Center starting at 6:00 p.m. Prizes, food, and awesome fun with a theater full of film nerds are all on the bill for this unique way to see Sandra Bullock get her heart broken.

WINE AND DINE

Saturday: Over 50 DFW area chefs serve samples to the hungry crowds on Savor Dallas' last day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in Dallas' Arts District. Nosh at the Nasher and munch at the Meyerson while exploring the more than 400 premium wines, beers, and sprits.

Sunday: Toast your toast at Abuelo's Sunday champagne brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Plano "mexican food embassy" will have prime rib, omelets, and mimosas on the menu.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Saturday: Beautiful weather has come in with the start of March, and though Phil said otherwise, we'll claim a start of Spring. The Dallas Arboretum agrees, with the start of Dallas Blooms, the annual floral festival featuring over 500,000 spring-blooming bulbs.

Sunday: Looking for inspiration and support for that big garden overhaul? The Dallas Home and Garden Market will have experts on hand to assist with everything from landscape questions to what color goes best with a cherry oak dresser. Show runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dallas Market Hall.
