1/8: Curtain Calls

STAGE ON FIRE: Third Coast Tribal isn't just a belly dancing power team. The roundup, which features dancers from Algeria alongside Texas' Empyrean Fire Tribe, also boasts ritual routines with swords and fire after hosting classes with titles like "Bollywood Anima: Definition of Anima (The feminine inner personality)"  all day long. Catch the 8PM show, which is suitable for all ages, at Rose Marine Theatre in Fort Worth. $20.

LOUD CROWD: Fresh out of the studio with John Congleton, Mount Righteous plays its first local show as a piping nine-piece since August. The group's most recent release, Open Your Mouth, is full of hooks on the triangle, Mexico-flavored horns, and handclaps that make it impossible not to smile after just a few bars. Giggle Party and Mr. Troll open. Andy's Bar in Denton, 9PM.

WINTER HAT TIP: "We tread the icy path slowly, for fear of tripping and falling. Then turn abrubtly, slip, crash on the ground ..." Sound familiar, fellow dumbfounded North Texans?  Vivaldi's Four Seasons (and the aforequoted sonnets on which they are based) should help us make peace with nature, as violinist Jennifer Koh performs the solos with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra at Bass Hall. Tickets start at $9. 7:40PM.
