    LAUGH LINE: The Backbeat Cafe & Listening Room made headlines over the holidays for hosting Dallas' first ever Unsilent Night street-level sound sculpture. On Wednesdays, the venue takes a break from brainy, experiemental music and invites would-be comics to nerd out at the Slap and Tickle! Comedy Open Mic. 8PM.

    DIZZY CITY: New Orleans' heart is festive, and artist James Michalopolos makes sure we remember it that way. His paintings gawk in wonder at stately homes and city blocks with a blurry, bending shape and loads of vibrant color. See his work and feel a joyfully tipsy as at The Cameron Gallery from 11AM-5PM.
