12/4-12/5: Fair Fun, Stealing Christmas and Fashion Awareness

A HOLIDAY AFFAIR: Remember all the fried goodies the state fair had to offer – well, re-nibble on some those succulent bites once again (as if Thanksgiving didn’t add enough inches to the waistline) at the MetroPCS Fair Park Holiday at Centennial Hall. The Saturday-only event lasts from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. featuring live shows, puppet shows, arts and crafts along with a bit of holiday shopping to go with that funnel cake. The day of fair reminiscing ends with a performance from the Dallas Wind Symphony, a Dallas tree-lighting tradition and fireworks. Entrance is free to all. Click here for more details.

SMASH THIS CHRISTMAS: The Smashing Pumpkins were just in Dallas in September and already miss it – this time they return to the Big D with a few friends for the How The Edge Stole Christmas show. The concert featuring Jimmy Eat World, Cage the Elephant and Civil Twilight starts at 6 p.m. tonight at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie. Tickets are $29.50-$49.50.

FASHION STANCE: Watch how some of Mklinks Models attempt their best Naomi Campbell walk at Wish Ultra Lounge for the Mahiri Takai 4th annual Aids Awareness Fashion Show. Designer Mahiri Takai will be showcasing his first-ever clothing and jewelry lines tonight at 8 p.m. in partnership with the Afiya Center. Along with the designer threads, MTV stylist Indashio will be making an appearance introducing his stylish line to North Texas.
