12/31: Get Your New Year's On

What are you NOT doing tonight in DFW?!

TIMES SQUARE (DALLAS STYLE): If you crave an in-person Times Square experience without leaving home, then throw on a coat, put on a funny NYE hat and head to Victory Park for the 4th annual Big D NYE.  The oversized block party starts at 7:30 p.m. with DJ Ro Parrish spinning beats. Scheduled performances include Cure Gravity, Sleeperstar, The Bright and Downtown Fever hitting the stage just as the ball drops. Some hush hush celebrity guests are expected to attend and enjoy a fireworks display as you welcome the New Year. The best part is that the outdoor bash is free to all.

LIVE THE GLAMOROUS LIFE: First, Zouk had Diddy host their grand opening and now the posh new hotspot is in high demand for the biggest celebration of the year. The new Dallas go-to nightclub plans to bring the Hollywood lifestyle this Dec. 31st with a Glam New Year’s Eve. Walk down the red carpet flooded with paparazzi into a 25,000 sq. ft. party pit and dance the night away with fellow glamazons. At midnight, expect a balloon drop and a champagne toast with a live performance by Dr. Hollywood. The celebration starts at 8:30 p.m. and won’t end until 4 a.m. Tickets start at $40.

GRANADA GETDOWN: If you’ve done the club thing, or don’t care for the crowds at Victory Park, then say “hello” to 2011 at the Granada – they haven’t won best live music venue several years in a row for nothing. The night of alternative rock kicks off with Larry Gee from Odis at 9 p.m. with Somebody’s Darling taking the stage at 10 p.m. and Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights performing at 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $24. Doors open at 8 p.m.
