BETTER THAN EZRA: If you blasted “Good” on your walkman back in ’95, you know a thing or two about Better Than Ezra and their origination in the mid-‘90s rock scene. Since then, a few changes have been made. They survived the loss of guitarist Joel Rundell, saw former drummer Travis McNabb hit it big with Sugarland and welcomed a few new faces to the line-up. They’ve been playing over a decade on independent labels working on new material preparing for some major radio airplay. Hear some of the band’s new creations tonight at the House of Blues Dallas for the “Road to Mardi Gras Tour” with Big Sam’s Funky Nation. Show starts at 8 p.m., doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $17.25 to $35.
CHOW DOWN ON A CAN OF (HOLIDAY) TUNA: The Eiseman Center in Richardson welcomes a new Broadway play to its stage. Opening tonight, is the two-man show “A Tuna Christmas” starring Joe Sears and Jaston Williams performing a wide array of costume and gender changes. The play takes place in Tuna, Texas during the holiday season centering on Vera Carp and her continuous triumphs in the Christmas Yard Display Contest. Along with Vera are a few key players in the city and we see how the people of Tuna survive Christmas. The first show starts at 8 p.m. with eight performances through Jan. 2. Tickets are $27 to $57.
