12/20: Festival of Lights

Prairie Lights, Jingle Bell Rock and Happy Hour Monday

LIGHT IT UP: Enjoy a festival of lights without ever stopping your car – except for pictures. You may need to keep your sunglasses on for Grand Prairie’s Prairie Lights extravaganza showcasing more than 4 million twinkling bulbs at Lynn Creek Park at Joe Pool Lake. Feast your eyes on two miles of sparkle with a 10-minute holiday light show, walk-through forest, carousel rides and stop by Santa’s Store for pics with Ol’ St. Nick. May your holiday nights be merry and bright from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The bulbs burn out on Dec. 31.

ROCK THE NIGHT AWAY: You may or may not be in the Christmas spirit this year, with all the last minute shopping and to-do lists but take a break before the big day. Round up the whole family and see how the kids in Fort Worth Jingle Bell Rock on the Casa Manana stage. Get that last holiday kick in the butt you need before battling mad shoppers and see what  a bright time you can have singing along to holiday rock’n’roll  classics at 7 p.m. Tickets are $19.50.

TACO HAPPY HOUR: It’s Monday. Whether you’re one of the lucky ones with holiday time off, or had to roll out of bed and enter the office, you could use a drink. ‘Tis the season to be jolly and with a little happy hour help at Urban Taco Uptown, your holidays will feel even brighter. The drinks start flowing at 4 p.m. and won’t end until 7 p.m.
