12/2: Fantasia, Burlesque Nutcracker and Hanukkah Kick-Off

Back To Me tour, Baptist Burlesque and Menorah lighting in West Village

BACK TO LIFE, BACK TO MUSICALITY: What do an Idol winner, a ‘80s R&B singer, Halle Berry’s ex-husband and a real Atlanta housewife have in common? Well, for starters they’ve all had their share of dirty laundry blasted on the covers of tabloids and now they’ve all come together to focus on music for the Back To Me Tour. The Color Purple star, Fantasia Barrino, headlines the tour with El Debarge, Eric Benet and Kandi performing at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie 7:30 p.m. Second chances seem to be the theme of this traveling troupe. Tickets are $39.75 to $59.75.

BAPTIST BURLESQUE: Spreading holiday cheer in fishnets and boas, The Beulaville Baptist Book Club Presents: A Bur-Less-Q Nutcracker hits the Stone Cottage Theater stage for another dose of non-traditional Christmas magic. Now in its 4th year on stage, the play celebrates its 100th performance. The play takes place in the fictional Beulaville and the near broke Baptist Book Club attempts to raise funds by hosting a Nutcracker Ballet (starring real ballerinas), but when the entire cast gets food poisoning, The Velvet Kittens Burlesque dancers come to the rescue – making for a hilarious take on nut cracking. See the production created by Dallas playwright Mark-Brian Sonna tonight at 8 p.m. in Addison. The play runs through Dec. 26. Tickets are $18 to $22.

HANUKKAH KICK-OFF: Pay a visit to the uber chic West Village for the 4th annual Uptown Menorah Lighting Hosted by The Intown Chabad. The start to the eight nights of celebration features delectable bites, giveaways and live music by Goga. Every night during the observance, the Menorah will be lit at 6 p.m. as part of the holiday tradition. Put on your dancing shoes, throw on a coat and head over to the West Village from 7-9 p.m. for a Menorah lighting festival sponsored by Action Metals.
