ALL IN A (TATTED UP) DAYS WORK: LA Ink star and tattoo maven Katherine Von Drachenberg better known as Kat Von D is a certified ink slinger. She has a natural rock ‘n’ roll attitude and distinct glamorous style. Von D knows how to design the most intricate of tattoos while playing up her beauty – she just came out with her own line of make-up at Sephora, including tattoo cover-up (for those days when you regret those extra shots of tequila ending in permanent arm art). The reality TV star first gained recognition in 2005 on the TLC series Miami Ink, but after personal differences with shop owners, Von D made the leap to la la land in 2007 owning High Voltage Tattoo, landing her own show. Von D has recently become a tabloid favorite for her romance with Jesse James. The Mexican-born artist visits DFW tonight to sign copies of her new book, “The Tattoo Chronicles” featuring sketches, images and candid photographs of her and clients’ ink. Von D will be at the Uptown DallasBorders location on McKinney Ave. at 6 p.m.

UNDERCOVER EDDIE: From stand-up comic to film actor to character actor and back at stand-up again, Eddie Griffin has been in this comedy game for some time now and is reclaiming his comedic roots. Griffin, a Missouri native, has played a supporting role in the male escort-mocking Duece Bigalow films, starred in the 2002 film Undercover Brother and even had his own television series with Malcom Jamaal-Warner that had a good four-year run. Griffin ranks number 62 on Comedy Central’s list of “100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time.” Tonight, he earns his rank performing his routine at the Addison Improv at 8 p.m.

MUM’S THE WORD: The UK has been good to folksy indie rock band Mumford and Sons. Their 2009 Shakespeare-inspired debut album, “Sigh No More” launched the band’s television background music success. The Mumford and Sons sound can be heard on a handful of TV show episodes including Grey’s Anatomy. Marcus Mumford leads this band of banjo-yielding musicians and has been ever since its formation in 2007. Mums and Sons are known throughout London’s folk scene as energetic and spontaneous when performance time comes. Tonight they bring that energy to Texas performing with Cadillac Sky at the House of Blues Dallas at 8 p.m.
