One Killed, One Injured in FW Head-On Collision

One man was killed and another was critically injured in a head-on collision on Airport Freeway overnight Sunday.
The driver of a pickup truck was going the wrong way in the westbound lanes of state Highway 121 when he collided with another truck underneath the Sylvania Street overpass just east of downtown Fort Worth.
The wrong way driver was killed when he was unable to escape from his vehicle after it caught fire following the crash. The driver of the second truck was transported to John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth in serious condition.
Accident investigators from the Fort Worth Police Department are trying to determine how the driver ended up heading the wrong direction on the highway.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner is working to identify the deceased driver and notify his next-of-kin.
