Man Reunited with Stolen Car After 42 Years

In what sounds like a happy ending from a Nancy Drew novel, a Southlake man has been reunited with his car after forty-two years.

Bob Russell, 66, never gave up the search for his 1967 Austin Healey 3000. According to The Dallas Morning News, the car was reported stolen to Philadelphia police in 1970.

After countless hours searching over the years, Bob found his car for sale in California.

The car dealership graciously offered to sell the vehicle to him, but since Bob was still the legal owner of the stolen property, he worked with Philadelphia police and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to impound the car for retrieval.
