Get J. Jonah Jameson on the line, we've got front page news that'll make your web-heads spin: Peter Parker is a pop-rocker in Bono and The Edge's new Spider-Man musical heading to Austin for an open casting call.

Producers of "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" are looking for both principals and understudies for Peter Parker, Mary Jane, and an unnamed female lead villain.

They're looking for 16-20 year olds for the Peter and MJ roles -- which is to be expected -- but has anyone described Peter Parker as "Can be nerdy with understated sex appeal and a good sense of humor?"

Things get weird with the unnamed "lead female villain," too: "Think Sinead O'Connor with a Middle Easter/Bulgarian/Greek twist. Foreign and/or world music types are great. Foreign accents are great..." and they're looking for a 25-35 year old. Huh? Are they asking for the Scarlet Witch?

You'll have to be at the Dougherty Arts Center in Austin on Wednesday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to see who all comes out for the open call. It's the final stop on their nationwide tour that's already hit Orlando, NYC, LA, Seattle, and Chicago -- so you'll need to seriously impress the producers with your skills.

Hopefully, we'll see what 1/2 of U2 + Julie Taymor can do with pop-rocker Peter Parker. We're praying he won't disco dance....
