Miss Texas pageant moves to Arlington

The 2009 Miss Texas pageant will be held in Arlington this summer. The winner will replace reigning Miss Texas Rebecca Robinson.
First the Cowboys make the move. Now Miss Texas is following close behind.
Pageant organizers said the group needed a "shot in the arm" after 46 years in Fort Worth and will move to Arlington this year.
The 2009 Miss Texas Pageant will be held on July 3 at inside Texas Hall at the University of Texas at Arlington.
In years past, Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum has hosted the yearly event.
Jean Magness, Miss Texas executive director, said Arlington is a happening place, and the group is excited about the move.
Magness also revealed the organization has signed a five-year letter of intent to stay in Arlington.
The nonprofit organization also stands to save some money by using Texas Hall, which is already equipped with lighting and sound equipment, something that was rented in the past.
