Sitting on a street level patio is often times a noisy experience. Curious passers by and loud cars can distract from an otherwise pleasant meal. This isn’t so at The Iron Cactus. Its upstairs patio overlooking Pegasus Plaza takes diners to another level. The view is impressive and the tableside guacamole and lobster tacos don't disappoint.

“It’s not a stuffy place. I think a lot of downtown you have the idea it’s fine dining and it’s stuffy. That’s not what’s going on at the The Iron Cactus, not at any of the locations -- especially here in Dallas. We have a great staff that caters to our guests and you can just come in and have a good time and be you,” said Joe Carbone, general manager of the popular hang out.

Carbone even admitted that during the summer time they don’t mind if pool hopping partiers come in wearing flip-flops and t-shirts over bathing suits. “We get a lot of people from all over Dallas as well as different parts outside of Dallas and in the mid-cities and Fort Worth,” said Carbone. The patio fills up quickly on the weekends when margaritas flow as continuously as the water in the fountain behind the patio’s corner booth. It’s easily the best seat on the patio.

“We get a lot of people from all over Dallas as well as different parts outside of Dallas and in the mid-cities and Fort Worth,” said Carbone. He continued: “When people want to get out of stuffy and they want to go smoke a cigar on the rooftop and have a margarita -- this is where they come.”

Here's a recipe for one of The Iron Cactus' signature cocktails. Enjoy!
