Art Conspiracy Auctions Lanterns to Raise Funds

Creatively answering the question "Watt's Up?," Art Conspiracy is planning an August 7 SEED fundraiser centered around selling lanterns.

The lanterns, though, are the work of local artists and made from re-purposed coffee tins collected from a local Dallas coffee shop. Now, the tins will serve as pieces of functional art and help AC raise funds for their big December fundraiser.

Raising funds for a future fundraiser? It's not that strange -- Art Conspiracy's December event usually takes over a space much bigger than Sons of Hermann Hall (which is where this August event will take place), and with bigger venues come bigger operating costs. In order for their second fundraiser to give the most money to this year's charity, Resolana, they need to foot the bill from this earlier event.

20 Dallas artists will be on hand, as well as music from Airline, True Widow, and Glen Faris during the event from 7 p.m. to midnight.
