Dwindling donations and decreased grants means Brighter Tomorrow's, a non-profit organization which helps victims of domestic abuse, can no longer keep their Desoto shelter open.
It's the only shelter of its kind within fifteen to twenty miles of the Desoto area.
Without it, local law enforcement has to drive victim's of domestic abuse a good thirty minutes away for a safe place to stay.
When the shelter was open, nearly 200 women and their children each year lived at that safe haven.
Staff at Brighter Tomorrow's says if the organization's donations increase, it may be able to re-open the shelter.
