Emmy Award-winning meteorologist Steve MacLaughlin can be seen weekdays at 4pm and weekends at 5, 6 and 10pm.

MacLaughlin came to Dallas/Fort Worth from WPHL in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he was Chief Meteorologist. Prior to that he was a weather anchor for NBC12 and FOX35 in Richmond, Virginia and at News 12 New Jersey, Westchester and Connecticut.

Since joining NBC5 in January 2004, MacLaughlin has won two Emmy Awards and has been nominated a total of five times. He also received the 2006 "Best Weathercast" award by the Associated Press.

Steve began his career as a weather producer for "The Today Show" and NBC4 in New York City where he had the pleasure of learning from his mentors, Al Roker and Chris Cimino. He has since had the privilege of filling in on-air at NBC4 and NBC Weather Plus from MSNBC.

MacLaughlin grew up in New Jersey and is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., where  he earned a Bachelor of Science in meteorology. Steve graduated with honors in 1998 and received the American Meteorological Society Television Seal Of Approval in 1999.

MacLaughlin has hosted the Jerry Lewis Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy every Labor Day since 2000 in Philadelphia and now for NBC5 in North Texas and remains active with the MDA throughout the entire year and in 2009 Steve won the MDA Broadcast Journalism Award for his profile of Joel Ginesta.

Every Wednesday during the school year MacLaughlin hosts "Weather Wonders" at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.

Steve's passion outside of television and weather is music. He plays the guitar and drums and is a singer and songwriter.
