In early 2007, Omar aired an investigative story on unsuspecting renters and homeowners moving into toxic homes that were once methamphetamine labs. After the story aired, lawmakers introduced a bill into the state legislature to clean up former meth labs and protect renters and buyers.
He graduated from the Broadcast Journalist Department at Texas Christian University.
Since Omar is a San Antonio native, he’s an unapologetic Spurs fans. He still supports the Mavs, just not when they’re playing San Antonio…especially in the playoffs.
When he’s not late for something, Omar enjoys running, shooting hoops, reading blogs and non-fiction and trying his best at crossword puzzles.
He also has fun setting off the smoke alarm while cooking new dishes in the kitchen.
