Brian Curtis is a four-time Lone Star Emmy Award winner, including a 2008 Emmy for his anchoring work. He is also the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters "Best News Anchor" for 2007. Brian co-anchors NBC 5 News at 10 p.m and NBC 5 First at Four.

Among the major stories that Brian has covered for NBC 5 and the NBC television network are the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece and the explosion of space shuttle Columbia over Texas in 2003.
Brian joined NBC5 in 2003. Brian previously anchored and reported at KCTV in Kansas City, WBRC-TV in Birmingham, Alabama, WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan, WOTV in Battle Creek, Michigan and KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri.
Among the other organizations that have recognized Brian’s work are the Press Club of Dallas, Kansas City Media Professionals, the Missouri Broadcasters Association and the Alabama Associated Press.
Brian has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He is also a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut.
Brian is originally from East Lyme, Connecticut and Block Island, Rhode Island. He spends much of his free time in the mountains of northern New Mexico.
