National Wear Red Day

Friday, February 1

This Friday, February 1st, is the American Heart Association’s National Wear Red Day.

The American Heart Association is asking North Texas to show its continued support by wearing red on National Wear Red Day, Friday, February 1st, to bring awareness and help spread the message about the greatest health threat that women and men will face.

For 10 years, women have been fighting heart disease individually and together as part of the Go Red For Women movement. More than 627,000 women’s lives have been saved, but the fight is far from over. Heart disease is still women’s No. 1 killer – it affects more women than men and is more deadly than all forms of cancer combined. But the strength of mothers, sisters, daughters and friends fighting side by side is more powerful than any killer. It’s time to shout louder, stand stronger and demand change. Together, we can end heart disease.
