Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer among women in the United States. However, it can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, socio-economic status or geographic location. Thanks to increased awareness, early detection, improved treatment methods and increased access to health services, people have a much greater chance of survival than ever before.

Komen North Texas is the go-to resource for breast health services for people without adequate finances or insurance. This year, Komen North Texas has invested $750,000 in breast health programs for residents of Collin, Cooke, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Montague, and Wise counties. Proceeds from the Denton Race for the Cure help to fund scientific research as well as local mammography, surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation treatments, support services and much more.
