The Salvation Army Seeks Community Partners for Youth and Arts Programs

Information sessions held May 1st

The Salvation Army is seeking community partners for recreation and arts programs at Youth Education Town on Wednesday, May 1, at the City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Department in Arlington. Information sessions will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. for organizations that offer recreation and arts-related programs to share information with them about becoming a partner in the Youth Education Town at The Salvation Army in Arlington.

The information sessions will cover the Youth Education Town vision, the benefits of becoming a partner, and the application process for partnership. Attendance is required for organizations that plan to submit a proposal for partnership. The Youth Education Town will provide diverse options for both youth and adult participants in performing arts, creative arts, visual arts, athletics, fitness, and recreational programs. Interested parties should be those who can offer programs onsite at the Youth Education Town in one or more of the following areas:
•        Nutrition
•        Meal planning
•        Strengthening and conditioning
•        Skill and position enhancement
•        Athletics (UIL-supported and Olympic sports)
•        Adult Fitness (examples: Zumba, Tai Chi, aerobics, cycling, self-defense, walking clubs)
•        Fitness boot camp or cross training
•        Tumbling
•        Non-traditional leagues or activities, such as pickleball or kickball
•        Dance (especially spiritual and  cultural art forms)
•        Dance - modern, ballet, drill, hip hop, jazz
•        Adult Dance:  swing out, line dance, ballroom
•        Step
•        Piano instruction
•        Drum line
•        Brass instrument instruction
•        Voice training
•        Choir
•        How to read music
•        Spoken word
•        Visual Arts - calligraphy, drawing, painting, pottery, mural painting, etc.
•        Crafts
•        Photography
•        Videography
