Sneak Peek Inside St. Jude Dream Home

This weekend, you'll get to step inside the St. Jude Dream Home for the first time. It costs $100 to register to win it, but it's free to tour the house full of special features.

The home is located in The Fairways of Champions Circle neighborhood in Fort Worth. For $100, the $335,000 home in a master-planned golf community could be yours. You won't get the fridge or the furniture, but it's guaranteed your odds of winning the house will be no worse than 1 in 10,500. That's the maximum number of tickets being sold for the Saint Jude Dream Home Giveaway.

"We meet so many families from this area that are affected and treated at St. Jude," April Cardinale, associate director for the hospital's southwest region, said.

St. Jude is hoping to sell out and raise over $1 million to research pediatric cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Vendors have donated products and services to build the 2-story home with four bedrooms, three baths, a media room, a study, an over-sized master shower, and built-in kitchen appliances. The builder says the fixtures in the downstairs guest bath alone cost as much as all the fixtures in an average house.

"We have some great things in here from an energy-efficiency standpoint," Doug Skomer, of Graham Hart Home Builder, said. "Radiant, variant decking. We have blown insulation in the walls. This will actually be an Energy-Star-certified home."

One of the unique features of the home is the kitchen faucet, which is touch activated. If you have dirty fingers, you can use the back of your hand to turn it on and off.

"The real winner here is St. Jude," Skomer said. "Whether you buy a ticket and win or buy a ticket and don't win, all the money goes to help the children."

NBC 5 is a sponsor of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. You can find more information and register to win the home or smaller prizes by searching "Dream Home" on this site. The drawing is June 19.
