Mola Lenghi is NBC 5’s reporter based in Arlington. Before joining the NBC 5 team, he worked at WPDE NewsChannel 15 in Myrtle Beach, SC. The beach – tough life, he knows.
While there, he was a reporter, an anchor, producer and website manager.
Mola, a first generation Libyan-American, grew up in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area in Vienna, Virginia, attended Fairfax County Public Schools and played football, basketball and baseball.
While it may put him in a precarious position here in Cowboy country, Mola is a proud Washington Redskins fan – “Hail to the Redskins!”
Mola loves to travel. In fact, he has been to eight different countries and over half the U.S. states and territories. He hopes both of those lists continue to grow. He also enjoys live music, tasting new foods and the beach, but as long as Mola is outdoors and well fed, you won’t hear him complain.
Mola studied History and Journalism at Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina – Go Chanticleers! In case you’re wondering what a Chanticleer is, it’s a proud and fierce rooster. In case you’re still wondering, Google it.
