Days of Our Lives will be preempted Tuesday due to a speech by President Barack Obama.

The president is expected to speak sometime between noon and 1 p.m. and will be carried live on the NBC Network. The president is expected to unveil a mortgage relief plan for members of the military and homeowners with government-insured loans in his first news conference of 2012.

As the speech will preempt Days of Our Lives on the east coast, the network has decided to preempt the broadcast nationwide and simply run Tuesday's episode during it's normal time slot on Wednesday.

NBC 5 will now air DFW Foodies and DFW Scene at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., respectively, on Tuesday.

Days of Our Lives will resume their normal broadcast schedule on Wednesday.
