Pat Doney is an award-winning sports anchor and reporter who wakes up every morning wanting to tell a great story.
He's won the Edward R. Murrow award for sports reporting, has been nominated for an Emmy three times, and has won ten Associated Press Broadcast Awards in his nine years of reporting experience.
A graduate of Liberty University, Pat began his broadcasting career at WSET-TV in Lynchburg, Virginia, followed by a stop at CableNews2 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Three years in Razorback-country followed, as he learned how to "Call the Hogs," while covering SEC football and basketball at KNWA/KARK-TV in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Most recently, Pat learned what true college basketball passion is all about, as he covered two Final Fours and a national championship at WDRB-TV in Louisville, Kentucky. In his three years in the Commonwealth State, Pat also was able to stand at the finish line at the Kentucky Derby… twice!
Pat is married to his best friend, Sheleena, and has a new baby girl, Barlow, who was born in late 2012. He enjoys trying to improve his golf game, working out, and (shocking) watching sports.
Pat is very excited to call Dallas/Fort Worth home, and is thrilled to be a part of the NBC 5 Sports Team.
