After arriving at KXAS from WLTX in Columbia, South Carolina in 2008, Matt won both a national and regional Edward R. Murrow award, a national NABJ award, and an Emmy for his story "A Game of Hope." Another story, "Brian's Song," won a Barbara Jordan award as well as an Emmy. Matt has also won an Emmy for Sports Reporting in a Sportscast.

Born and raised in Arizona, Matt has worked in just about every region in the country. Matt is a graduate of Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism.

Matt enjoys spending time on the golf course and spending time with his beautiful wife, Ashley. He says his favorite part of his job is traveling with the Dallas Cowboys.

He particularly hates writing bios because he thinks they come off "all about him."
