Amanda is one of those rare finds -- enthusiastic, loves telling people’s stories, and at home in front of the camera.  Her motto is “to be the voice for those who have none.”  Whether on the beach covering the latest tropical storm, flying high in a C-17 with Charleston Airmen, or Skyping from a bus of civil rights leaders in route to Obama’s Presidential Inauguration, she uses social networking and good old fashion journalism to find the stories no one else will cover or find.

As a morning reporter for the past five years in various markets, she’s had the opportunity to be first on the scene of some of the biggest national stories.  Reporting on the sad and untimely death of nine Charleston firefighters for the CBS Early show, updating ABC Network with live reports on polling issues during the Presidential Election in Raleigh-Durham, and showing viewers Albany's flooded areas for The Weather Channel, she’s appeared in countless other National news reports while working in various markets.

Amanda also has a special interest in the communities she’s lived, earning numerous Community Service Awards throughout her career.  She is facilitator and creator of the Amanda Fitzpatrick journalism boot camp.  Where she volunteers her time teaching Atlanta High School students how to report and produce the news.

Amanda also spent a college semester studying in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey, Mexico.  There she lived with host families while studying the Spanish language, tourism, business, and politics.  She also was able to further practice her love of cooking Spanish food, something she says still needs a little work!

From one man band reporter and producer to live shots for network news, she’s done it all.  And says she feels at home in Dallas and is glad to get a chance to take advantage of all the great things there are to do in and around the city!
