A couple who wanted an extra sweet ceremony decided to get married inside a newly opened doughnut shop, and that’s not even the most important detail.

The Colorado couple's nuptials took place promptly at 1:14 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2014. That’s right: 1/1/14 at 1:14.

Man Arrested With Stolen Pizzas, Fake Gun in Possession

The pair, Chris and Chanti Hayes, said they knew they wanted to be married inside Denver's Voodoo Doughnut shop as soon as it opened, they told NBC affiliate KUSA-TV in Denver.

The Hayes were the first to tie the knot in the Denver shop, but the franchise is no stranger to weddings. Voodoo Doughnut, which offers out-of-the-norm treats with names like "Maple Blazer Blunt" and "Memphis Mafia," also functions as a wedding chapel.

Next to flavors of doughnuts and funky-flavored ales on Voodoo’s website, married-couples-to-be can browse numerous nuptial offerings.

Couples can spend anywhere from $25 to $6,600 depending on which ceremonial package they choose -- and how many doughnuts they want filling the tables.

Voodoo Doughnut CEO Robin Ludwig told KUSA his Portland, Ore., shop has long-offered wedding ceremonies as part of its distinctive menu, and he hopes the new Denver location will grow to keep just as many matrimonial memories inside.
