A grocery store in Wisconsin broke their own world record over the weekend when they grilled the world's largest bratwurst.
Last year, Ptacek's IGA grocery, in Prescott, Wisc., wanted a special way to celebrate their 100th birthday. The family-owned grocery decided to cook up the world's largest bratwurst -- a 52-foot whopper accompanied by a bun of equal length.
The response was so overwhelmingly positive they decided to try to top the 2012 effort by tripling the size of the sausage.
On Labor Day, before a packed parking lot, a Budweiser beer bratwurst measuring 152 feet and 9 inches long was grilled on a makeshift outdoor grill comprised of cinder blocks and metal grates.
About six dozen people delicately turned the 80-pound sausage as it grilled and then, once completed, carefully lifted it into a bun cooked the day before on the same grill.
The brat was then cut into sections and immediately sold -- all proceeds going to fund a new park near the grocery store.
