Man taken into custody by Baton Rouge police

American Eagle flight 2795 from Baton Rouge to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport was canceled Wednesday after a heartbroken man locked himself in the cockpit, according to WVLA-TV.

The man, a ticketed passenger, locked himself in the cockpit as passengers boarded the plane. WLVA learned the man was despondent over the end of a romantic relationship.

The man, whose name has not been released, was eventually taken into custody by the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Officials have not said if the man was ticketed to fly on the Dallas-bound flight.

The flight, which was originally scheduled to depart at noon was rescheduled for 1:25 p.m. before it was ultimately canceled.
