Vernon police did not have much trouble finding the oddly dressed man they said was yelling about wanting to beat up U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman. He was the guy dressed as a ninja and waving nun-chucks.

Around 11 a.m., the calls starting coming in about the guy in ninja couture who was standing at the corner of Route 83 and Regan Road, swearing and shouting.

There they found Garland Eastman, 30, of Vernon, police said. Officers pulled out beanbag and stun guns and Eastman became polite and cooperative, the said.

He was charged Sunday with breach of peace and brought to Rockville General Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and later released.

Eastman couldn't be reached Monday. He has no public phone listing, and it's not clear whether he has a lawyer.

Public records show Eastman used to live in Memphis, Tenn.
