Record Set at 2,100 Needles

A North Texas man stuck his name back into the Guinness Book of World Records Tuesday.

Robert Rubio once held the record for the most needles in the human body (900) during a single session, but then, as you might expect, someone topped his feat with a new record of 1,197 needles.

Rubio planned to find 803 other places to stick needles and be the first person to ever have 2,000 needles stuck through his body at one time.

Two thousand.  Needles. Slipped through the skin.

"The first time I did it, I did it for my mom. I wanted her to open up a book and say, 'That's my son. I'm proud.' She thinks I'm stupid, but she still loves me," Rubio said with a chortle.

Five hours after starting the process, Rubio met, and exceeded, his goal. Ultimately, 2,100 needles were slipped through Rubio's skin -- placing him back atop the list of needle stickers.
