Would-Be Long Island Burglar Tried Using Pitchfork: Cops

The burglar tried to use a pitchfork to break down the door of a house on Fulton Avenue in Roosevelt

Police say a man tried to break into a Long Island home with an unusual burglars' tool -- a pitchfork.
 
Michael Brown, 39, was being arraigned Sunday in a Nassau County court on attempted burglary and other charges.
 
Police say he tried to use the farm tool to break down the door of a house on Fulton Avenue in Roosevelt on Saturday.
 
A 58-year-old woman who told police she knows Brown was home and called police.
 
Police say they found him nearby, riding a bicycle that had been reported stolen earlier in the day and in the possession of marijuana.
 
Information on an attorney for Brown was not immediately available.
