Marry Me on MySpace!

Indiana couple vying to have MySpace users plan their wedding

Many engaged couples try to find a unique venue for their upcoming wedding: on a rollercoaster, in mid-air while skydiving, on a scenic beach, etc. And now, one romantic couple will get to tie the knot on MySpace.

Johnel and Alana, 30 and 34 respectively, are hoping to be the lucky winners of a contest on the social networking website, MySpace. They will be competing against two other finalist duos, vying for people's votes.

The website (www.myspace.com/marriedonmyspace) features the Gary, Ind., couple in a 3-minute video, having fun and playfully asking for people's votes. Johnel, who wants to start a non-profit to help young people, met Alana through a mutual friend. While it took a few months for them to figure out where they stood ("she played hard-to-get," Johnel says), they're now ready to take the next step into marriage.

But they're not the only ones looking to have a wedding with millions of "guests." They're up against Tito and Elle, who've been engaged for two years, and Tyson and Morgan, who knew each other as kids and reconnected on MySpace.

The lucky winners will be announced on May 15, but the adventure doesn't end there. The winning couple will receive a wonderful wedding, all planned by MySpace users. The online community will also help plan the big day via their votes.

MySpace users can vote once per day until May 8 for their favorite couple at the website (www.myspace.com/marriedonmyspace).
