You could feel the warmth Tuesday night at Angel Stadium.

And although Minnesota smacked three homeruns in its 5-3 win over the Angels, fans still walked away with something about which to brag -- their new "Matsui Blankies." The free fleece blankets -- named for the new guy -- not only kept fans warm, but also became part of a Guinness World Record for the "Largest Gathering of People Wearing a Fleece Blanket."

Take that, Cleveland.

The blanket features the team logo, designated hitter Hideki Matsui's signature and his No. 55.

Fans set the record by wearing their blankets for five consecutive minutes -- there's a reason this wasn't scheduled for August. A Guinness World Records adjudicator was present to certify the record.

The old record of 17,758 set at a Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game March 5. The announced attendance figure for Tuesday's Angels game was 43,510.

Even without the incentive of a fleece blanket, fans still packed Angel Stadium for Monday's opener. A sellout crowd of 43,504 people watched the Angels beat Minnesota, 6-3.

And all they got was a schedule magnet.

Other Angels promotions this season include the Angels Garden Gnome, Angels Fedora Hat, Rally Monkey Soap Dispenser and -- just in time for school -- the Back-to-School Binder.

As if 11 new food choices didn't provide enough reasons to go to a game.
