Jazz Radio Station Airs Gay Porn Soundtrack, Apologizes

A UK accidentally broadcast five minutes of audio from a stag film.

A British radio station with a penchant for smooth jazz, old-fashioned standards and traditional blues numbers accidentally broadcast several minutes of audio from decidedly more X-rated material Saturday night.

Pink News, "Europe's Largest Gay News Service," reported Monday that Jazz FM inadvertently played several "highly regrettable" minutes of the soundtrack to a gay stag film during the Funky Sensation program.

The recording started playing at roughly 7:15 p.m. and reportedly featured two men in a dialogue-free but otherwise sexually explicit scene, which Pink News has posted to their website. (Advisory: the content of the recording is quite graphic).

According to Pink News, a broadcast assistant was viewing the pornographic film in question during a recording session and accidentally transmitted the audio to the program's primary microphone.

The British broadcasting regulator Ofcom tells Pink News that it is currently reviewing the incident for potential violations of standards and practices.

Jazz FM's Head of Progamming, Mike Vitti, has issued an apology for the incident on behalf of the station.

"We have taken steps to ensure that there will be no repeat of this incident," Vitti said.
