Chirac Mauled by His Psycho Lap Dog

Former French president attacked by his depressed pup

A mentally ill Maltese savaged former French President Jacques Chirac this week, badly enough that the one-time head of state had to go to the hospital for his injuries.

Chirac's dog Sumo has suffered from clinical doggie depression for several years and takes medication to keep him in his right canine mind, according to Agence France Presse. Still, the Maul-tese has been prone to bouts of crazed behavior.

Chirac's wife Bernadette said that the attack by the white miniature lap dog was unprovoked but the bite wounds were serious, according to British paper The Daily Mail. The president is expected to make a full recovery with no physical scarring.
