8 Arrested for Silly Shoe Polish Prank

Eight high school seniors in South Texas have been arrested after shoe polish was used to write "Class of 2011" on school windows and toilet paper was thrown on campus trees.

Brownsville Independent School District spokeswoman Drue Brown says the incident happened several hours before the last day of classes began Thursday at Porter High School.

Police say the teens are accused of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Conviction on the Class C misdemeanors is punishable by a fine of up to $500.

Brown says school officials will consider whether the eight seniors should be barred from taking part in Saturday's graduation ceremony.
