6-Foot Alligator Removed From Houston-Area Yard

A 6-foot alligator has been relocated from a Houston-area piano teacher's front yard after a student noticed the reptile resting under a bush.

Missouri City police and animal control officers on Monday helped monitor the creature until a Texas game warden arrived and safely removed the alligator.

KPRC-TV reports the alligator was being transported to Wharton County for release into the wild.

Tanya Chaovaletz says she noticed people gathered in her front yard, wasn't sure what was happening and then a boy she teaches reported seeing an alligator.

Nobody was hurt.

A small lake in the neighborhood has a sign that says "Beware Of Alligators."
