Injured Seal Heading to New Home

A young male harbor seal that had its rear flipper amputated after being struck by a boat is getting a second chance at life thanks to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center.  After seven months at the center, the seal was taken to a new, permanent home at the Aquarium of Niagara in New York. The seal was found on a New Jersey beach back in April with lacerations on its back and its rear flipper nearly severed. The injuries make it nearly impossible to survive back in the wild.
