A Dallas man with ties to the hacking group Anonymous and now under federal indictment is to appear before a judge to determine if he's competent to stand trial.
According to U.S. District Judge Sam Lindsay's scheduling order, prison medical staff believe Barrett Lancaster Brown to be competent for trial.
Brown has been linked to Anonymous and has previously acted as a de facto spokesman for the group. The 31-year-old Brown was first charged in October with making Internet threats and retaliating against law enforcement in YouTube videos he posted.
Two later indictments accuse Brown of making public an Internet link with access to stolen credit card information and concealing evidence by hiding two laptop computers from authorities.
Brown is to appear in federal court in Dallas federal court Wednesday.
