A 12-year-old Seattle girl was sentenced to probation for cyberstalking a classmate on Facebook.
The girl, whose name was withheld, was also charged with first-degree computer trespassing for using the victim's password information to get into her Facebook account, according to the Seattle Times. She and another girl, who is just 11, allegedly posted sexually explicit content on the victim's page.
The 11-year-old's case was sent to juvenile court, which is expected to order her to do community service.
"I want to apologize for making people go through all of this," the 12-year-old said in court on Wednesday. " I just feel real bad and if I could go back I would change everything."
In addition to posting graphic content on the girls' Facebook page, the pair also sent instant messages to "random individuals" to arrange for sex acts, according to Issaquah, Wash., police.
The 12-year-old victim, Leslie Cote, and her mom, have asked the media to use her name in hopes of bringing attention to the issue of cyberstalking.
Tara Cote called cops after finding vulgar postings on her daughter's Facebook page, including altered photos of Leslie with "devil's horns" and the words "I'm a slut" across one image.
Prosecutors said Leslie had been at the home of one of the defendants in March when she logged into Facebook. Her password information wound up stored on girl's computer.
